Artist’s Statement About This Piece:
This painting is inspired by a photo I captured in my backyard one morning. My mornings are sacred to me. I’m usually the only one awake and I have a moment to myself before anyone else gets up, and I’m often rewarded with a beautiful sunrise like this one. I love being able to have the first part of the day to work on me. After watching the magic show in the sky and take care of my pets, I sit down with a cup of coffee and my journal to clear my head and manage my thoughts. It is in these moments that I create the life I want by deciding how to think and what to focus on.
