Planning for self-growth

I don’t know if you know this about me, but outside of being an artist, I am also a homeschool mom, a teacher at our homeschool co-op, and a co-caregiver for my dad who has dementia. My parents live with us and I drive both of them around to their appointments and whatnot. A lot in my life goes on outside of the studio. I’m sure some of you can relate to wearing several hats. There are a couple of things that keep me on track. I am able to accomplish a lot, and there are two things that help me get everything done. I plan everything I’m going to do, and I set my mind right about getting it done. Procrastination and excuses are great ways to squash your goals. You have to change the way you talk to yourself to accomplish what you want in life.

Y’all, I am a huge planner nerd. I love planners, and I love to plan all the things. January is a great excuse to get a new planner. This is the one I bought this time, and I absolutely love it! Of course, I had to get the purple one. There is a section in the front that helps you break down your goals and plan for them. Planners are also how I am able to do so many things and wear so many hats. I PLAN for everything. I even schedule time for myself and time to hang out with my family. If you don’t plan for your goals, they are just a wish.

Another thing that has helped me is “thought work” and life coaching. I journal every morning to set my mind right for the day. When I say it has “helped” me, I mean it has completely changed every aspect of my life! There are two coaches I listen to. The first one is Corinne Crabtree. She has a free podcast “Losing 100 Pounds” and she has a paid membership: NoBS Women. I’m not going to lie, I’m still working on the weightless part, but the thought work she teaches is simply life-changing. I also listen to Brooke Castillo’s free podcast “The Life Coach School” which is also amazing. Start with the first episode if you listen. Between these two, I have changed my mindset around relationships, myself, my past, and my goals. I highly recommend them both.
