Best Apps for Homeschool: Part 2 of 4

In the beginning of my homeschooling journey, I would teach math while standing at the whiteboard. I would also spend a lot of money on getting PDF documents printed for digitally downloaded curricula. Then, I had a realization. My kiddo was into digital art at the time, so for Christmas, we gifted them with an iPad and Apple Pencil so they could use Procreate. I had used Goodnotes before as a digital daily planner. I thought… Why not import the workbooks into Goodnotes on my kid’s iPad? Then I took it a step further. I imported it to mine as well. Then, I shared my screen with our TV in the living room. Now I can use the TV as a whiteboard from the comfort of my couch.

Goodnotes is available for both Apple and Android tablets. You will need a stylus to write on it like a notebook. To share it to your TV, you will need a smart TV, Roku, Apple TV, or similar device that allows you to screen share. Another feature that makes it great for a digital whiteboard is the laser pointer cursor. It turns your stylus into a laser pointer. See the image below. The red mark appears for just a moment and then fades away.
